Megan Alpert, CPFA®
Principal
Driven by a profound passion for helping others, Megan Alpert’s goal is to be a shining star in the financial world. A gifted listener and natural collaborator, she founded Joy World Wealth Partners in 2023 to help clients cultivate positive money mindsets and bring peace, joy, and ease to the financial planning process.
Megan’s approach to holistic financial advice helps her clients dream big and define their goals. Once a client’s goals are clearly defined, Megan partners with them to create a plan considering the journey and destination. She presents all opportunities available and assists clients in making decisions that align with their highest purpose. Megan skillfully distills complex possibilities into clear financial plans and has formed true partnerships and deep connections with clients.
Megan is a seasoned financial services professional with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Before founding Joy World, Megan was a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch. Megan rose through the ranks at Merrill, growing from an entry-level home office employee to client associate to solo practitioner throughout her impressive two-decade tenure. Always eager to help and inspire others, Megan shared her journey and mentored the next generation of the firm’s advisors as its Financial Advisor Training Program leader.
“In 2023, I took a leap of faith and founded Joy World Wealth Partners because I wanted the freedom and independence to bring greater focus to my clients and their unique needs. My goal is to bring clients closer to achieving their dreams. My team comprises missionaries and visionaries who believe in one-on-one attention and individualized guidance; each representative is an educated, warm, and dependable fiduciary when managing their client’s wealth.”
Megan holds prestigious designations as a CPFA-Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor and the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations and has her Life and Health Insurance licenses. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Pittsburgh and is passionate about behavioral finance and the psychology of money.
Giving back to her community is a priority. Megan is active in her church, serving as a CCD instructor and lector at the Immaculate Conception Church. She also serves on the boards of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, DATS (Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services), Circle 200, and Spread Joy. Spread Joy is an initiative started by her late friend, which continues to be a source of inspiration for Megan and Joy World Wealth Partners. She is also very active in her local business community, having served as president of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) and The Century Club of Scranton. Megan is an impact member of The Scranton Area Community Foundation’s Women in Philanthropy. Some of her Honors include Champion of the NEPA Dancing with the Stars competition, and a finalist for Woman of Excellence. She’s also been featured in several local publications for her accomplishments.
Megan lives in the historic Hill Section of Scranton with her husband, Ryan, their two sons, Jack and Ben, and their daughter, Audrey. They also share their happy home with two Cavapoo dogs, Francine and Ricky.
With her uplifting approach to financial advice and her commitment to helping others, Megan is truly a bright light in the world of wealth management.
Joanna Connor
Director of Client Services
As Director of Client Services at Joy World Wealth Partners, Joanna Connor balances her passion for community and caretaking with her talent for providing exceptional client service. Before joining Joy World, Joanna enjoyed a career in management and customer service and feels lucky to have had several mentors that emphasized the importance of treating clients like close friends or family. Joanna is a natural problem-solver and connector who finds professional joy in addressing client inquiries and pairing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
Joanna’s family has always been her top priority. She was fortunate enough to stay home and raise her three young boys (Cashel, Garren, and Declan) during their early years. Joanna and her husband, Jimmy, have been married for 16 years, and he is her best friend. In her free time, Joanna enjoys reading, serving her community through her church and local non-profits, and going on adventures with her family.
William McDonough
Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, William “Bill” McDonough keeps Joy World running efficiently.
Bill’s extended facilities management and operations career has prepared him well for this role. He spent 38 years working for the Scranton School District in progressively elevated management roles and was promoted to the Director of Facilities & Grounds. While there, Bill also served as a Union Business Agent.
When Bill decided to change his job, he followed his heart. He went to work with Saber Health, supervising the environmental/housekeeping team at one of their premier nursing homes. He improved the operations processes and provided tools for the team to better care for their residents.
Bill then returned to work in education as Facilities Manager at Lackawanna College before joining Joy World Wealth Partners.

Every day is different as I work to ensure our office is a place where our clients feel welcome and comfortable. I am excited to run the operation while the rest of our passionate team can focus 100% on our clients.”
Bill is dedicated to serving his community and has always been known for his welcoming smile. He works as a volunteer for the Steamtown Marathon and the Families Helping Families program each year.
Bill and his wife Kathy have four children and four grandchildren, which keeps their life full.
Dawn Eagleton
Director of Business Development
Dawn has served clients as a business development director within the tourism, hospitality, and business events industries. She has extensive experience in sales and customer service, having worked with individuals and major corporations and with national and international associations in North America.
Her great success and the most fulfilling aspect of her business career are due to her continual focus on the needs of her clients as the number one priority. By building strong relationships with her clients, she has earned the reputation of being a trusted source and a true partner in meeting their goals.

Dawn’s greatest enjoyment comes from spending time with her family when not working. She also loves traveling internationally to experience different cultures, going to the theater, and attending concerts.
